Dear Dawn,

Last year I saw some floral hot pants/shorts of yours on Bona Drag (made from the floral fabric your current bridesmaids dress is from I think..) and I totally fell in love. I bought a pair, and unfortunately had my money returned as the owner had made a mistake with her stock and actually had none of your shorts left.

I was heart broken.

However I see that you're currently selling hot pants shorts things again. I also see that you have this floral fabric at hand.

Is it in any way possible that you would be able to make some of the hot pants in that floral fabric like last years one? If you were willing to do this, I would not only pay the appropriate amount, but perhaps send you a small hand made surprise in the mail - maybe the entire contents of the top drawer of my desk; or maybe a small cross-stitched panel. You'll never know... but summer in Australia is coming, I'm scared about the heat, and I'm scared I won't have hot pants.

dawn you must have felt me thinking about you yesterday
i went to golden bridge and bought two pieces of bread
very thin slices 1 apple 1 pumpkin
and it was over 8 $

and the apple was hard and inedible its still sitting in my car
and the pumpkin
didnt taste like pumpkin
just sugar
it was so disappointing

i was thinking about how wonderful the bread you make is
and its healthy and delicious
and interesting

and they should just hire you to be the bread momma
and everyone would come in and buy your love breads
and i hate golden bridge now
its a sham
all that chanting
and they cant even make decent bread
what a hoax

Larry Law's series of small pocketbooks from the late 1970s to the early 1980s entitled 'Spectacular Times'. They serve as a brief introduction to the ideas of Situationism. Each consists of newspaper clippings, illustrations, quotations and handwritten text by Law. I have Woman and the spectacle* and inside is a quote I love 'we teach all hearts to break'.

weaves it's wet into synthetic fibers
finds the spider leg neighbors

The scribbles and the heated breast
know no direction, never find rest.

We took the children to Seattle a few weekends ago.

Tasja and I got new boots. Her's from The Red Light, mine from a random consignment store on Division Street. She's been wearing her boots in all kinds of boot ruining situations like jumping into wet sawdust and bike riding. She has enjoyed many compliments on her boots. I have yet to get my first but I'm hopeful and gearing up the right ensemble.
